The Thursday Club committee are doing a grand job. During the past year, we have had both in-house and outings to keep us busy and stimulated. Everything from trips to Southend and sung Evensong at Cathedrals, to fish and chips and bingo, and delicious home-made soup and ‘beetle’. Talks, craft demonstrations, the annual barbecue in June, Carols and Eucharist, followed by Christmas lunch, this year at the Blakemore Hotel. We’ve also been to the Gordon Craig theatre. Numbers vary, of course - we don’t all like the same things, and holidays occur - but there are always enough to make a cheerful gathering. Include the fact that everyone is welcome (you don’t need to be a church member), and we know we are involved in a good thing. Sybil Graham
