Clutching At Straws are Pete Budd (mandolin, guitar), Nigel Gatherer (mandolin), John Greig (banjo) and Seonaid Lynn (fiddle). We play Old-Time music - American string band music from the Southern Appalachian area. Currently we're hosting a monthly old-time jam session at The Tass Bar in Edinburgh's Royal Mile (corner of High St. and Jeffrey St) on the first Tuesday of the month, starting at 9pm. Everybody is welcome, so please come along, whether it's to listen or join in. (See the tune lists - links below)
Edinburgh has become one of the best places for music, with many Scottish and Irish sessions held throughout the week all over the city. American music is getting a fair show these days, with our Tass session, and a Bluegrass session held at the Castle Arms on the third Thursday of the month (check out Russell Cooper's Bluegrass in Scotland for more details).
